SAINT LAURENT X THOMAS JEPPE

Written By:

Anthony Vaccarello loves an artist takeover. To celebrate the official opening of the Saint Laurent store on Collins Street in Melbourne, Vaccarello has commissioned an exclusive series of artworks by Australian-born and Paris-based artist Thomas Jeppe titled ‘Paris End’. The exhibition features monochromatic paintings focused around two triptychs of arched architecture, a play on mirroring and geometry. “The cleaved sphere of the Paris skylights are both elemental protection and a glass ceiling ... these hemispheres return as the duelling walls of a ravine,” says Jeppe. “The Paris End project follows some thinking about the links and disruptions between cities, a notion of split geography and a fragmented globe.” The Paris End exhibition will be on display from May 19 to June 9 in the Saint Laurent Collins Street store in Melbourne.
