MIU MIU: SS27
We’re calling it a Miu Miu super mix: all the brand's classic odes, but put together in new ways. This was undone, done right. A blazer over a silk printed shirt worn long over track pants; print shorts worn under tracksuit jackets with high cut just under the bra line tops; crackling glazed suede low slung pencil skirts worn with leather bomber jackets.
It was sportswear paired with evening wear. A-line baby girl cocktail dresses. Posh, polite and yet tough. Don’t mess with Miu Miu. This wardrobe hit the sweet spot with attitude. Bags were boxy and prints inspired by the geometry of the 1950s and 60s, beaded and embellished. Double bows on pointy stilettos. Bows on blouses.
An invitation to a late night party on the Left Bank. The casting reflected the house's ongoing dialogue with film and actors: Olivia Coleman and Emma Corrin walking the purple runway, the scenography to be part of filmmaker Alice Diop’s Geste de Consolation that will be part of Art Basel Paris later this month.
The light denim was a collaboration with Wrangler, reworking together vintage denim from the 1990s, softly worn. At its heart this collection was about nonconformity - something that we value. It invited the wearer to go find themselves and be themselves. Intelligence, intellect and ideas at play.
