CARTIER PRESENTS GRAIN DE CAFE

The South of France, the heat of the summer sun, the scent of coffee beans. 'Tis the Cartier way. The reimagined Grain de Café collection has just arrived in Australia, a solar-infused collection of exquisite yellow gold creations. The gleaming "coffee bean" motif, made forever famous by Grace Kelly (who received a Grain de Café set for her wedding to Prince Ranier III of Monaco), is arranged like clusters that whoosh and sigh with slight movement, studded with diamonds set in white gold. Pendants, brooches, earrings and rings make up the collection that was originally designed by Jeanne Toussaint in 1938.

Ultimate summertime glamour, rubellite beads stud a ring and bracelet to create berries that are scattered, half-fruit and half-flower. So very down to earth. “Grain de Café creates a new preciousness by playing with light, finishes and volumes...," says Marie-Laure Cérède, Creative Director of Jewellery and Watchmaking. "The result is a versatile collection with added spirit. A symbol of the creative freedom of the Maison, Grain de Café transcends a literal translation of nature and results in a multi-sensory design.”

Paying homage to Princess Grace of Monaco, Cartier has collaborated with American director Alex Prager who ups the elegance in a short film featuring the new face of Grain de Café, Elle Fanning. Off to the French Riviera we go, golden in Grain de Café.
