LOUIS VUITTON steps back into ceramics

|
Written By:

Louis Vuitton gives its watchmaking codes a fresh, ceramic spin with its latest timepiece, the Monterey Ceramic, unveiled as part of Pharrell Williams’ SS27 menswear show. There, the timepiece was styled hanging from a leather watch fob secured with a carabiner clip at the waist, blurring the line between wristwatch and fashion accessory. Drawing from the maison’s LV II models, the new design reimagines a familiar silhouette through a distinctly modern lens.

Crafted in a 37mm case of scratch-resistant black or green ceramic, both colourways will join Louis Vuitton’s permanent collection. Powered by the LFTMA01.02 automatic movement and finished with matte-lacquered dials, hands and minute tracks, the watch balances technical precision with refined craftsmanship. While paying tribute to  the house’s earliest wristwatch design, the 1988 LV I, the Monterey Ceramic brings a playful edge to something enduringly classic.
