BURBERRY AW22 CELEBRATES COMMUNITY
August is rather quiet in the world of fashion but Burberry is providing us with a rather spectacular new campaign. Photogrsphed by Inez and Vinoodh, and styled by Lotta Volkova, the campaign captures the power of community, where models are united and celebrated for their sense of individuality. Starring Irina Shayk, Khalil Ghani and Lina Zhang, the photographs spotlight Riccardo Tisci’s ability to modernise the heritage codes of the brand, featuring classic trench coats turned into ballgowns and vintage-inspired floral lace corset tops paired with knife pleated skirts. For the campaign’s official film, Burberry features the Compton Cowboys, a Black-owned LA-based non-profit organisation, which uses connections to the outdoors to uplift local African American communities by combatting stereotypes.
