LOEWE: SS23

Serenity, precision and clarity were the words Jonathan Anderson said backstage at the Loewe SS23 show. "Something in nature that looks fake but is real... trickery... realism," he said. The collection centred around an anthurium flower that bloomed larger than life in the middle of the pure white space. It was where the models emerged from, also wearing anthurium lily tops as they glided Loewe-light. Knitted dresses were micro mini, shorts were teeny tiny and hunting jackets were shrunken. The Loewe girl is set for Spring/Summer. Clever J-Dubz did his thing on t-shirts and chinos that had been given a 'pixelated glitch Minecraft' treatment, another example of the merging of gaming and fashion that we've seen in previous seasons. Deflated balloon heels grounded mini draped strapless dresses and the Puffer Goya bag joined its trusty new sidekick, the Paseo bag with its origami folds as this seasons objects of desire. It was great, fresh, classic Jonathan at Loewe. Blissed out.
