INSIDE CHANEL'S LUCKY CHANCE DINER
Hungry for a spritz of glamour? Look no further than the Chanel Lucky Chance Diner. Straying from the typical grease-drenched grub favoured by the typical American diner, the pop-up Lucky Chance Diner will instead serve only light branded refreshments, placing the emphasis of the experience on another sense: smell.
The unique fragrance experience is offered in celebration of the launch of Chance Eau Fraîche Eau de Parfum and the opening of the new Chanel fragrance and beauty boutique in the neighbourhood, transforming Williamsburg’s iconic Wythe diner into a insta-worthy, retro-style pastel pink and green dream. The colour scheme is derived from the hues of the scents themselves, taking us to another world and adding to the cohesive immersion of the luxurious experience. The diner boasts the classic leather-upholstered family-style booths we’ve come to expect from an all-American bistro and keeps with its pretty pastel palette for the seating, as well as counter-top seating, napkin holders, clocks and other recognisable paraphernalia – all of which carry Chanel’s iconic ‘CC’ logo, engrossing customers in a carefully curated sensory journey.
Round perfume bottles sit on every surface, with the addition of life-sized Chance perfume bottles waiting eagerly for selfies to be taken alongside them. Patrons are invited to the space to go on a “personalised scent discovery”, and while the experience is offered completely free of charge, the sparkling floral and woody fragrance is available to purchase from a window that has been repurposed, having once sold various vintage treats of yesteryear.
The space will highlight collections from the Chanel Makeup Creation Studio, skincare from Chanel Research and Technology laboratory in Pantin, France, and fragrances from Chanel in house perfumer Olivier Page.
The location for the diner makes it a natural local stop-off for Chanel fans and New York Fashion Week attendees in the area, located on the corner of Wythe Avenue and North 10th Street in Brooklyn, only a short walking distance to the newly opened Chanel fragrance and beauty boutique. Open to the public for three days only, from 11am to 7pm, beginning 8 September, Chanel is offering limited 30-minute reservations here, but walk-ins are also welcome.
