Dior Unveils New High Jewellery, Diorexquis

Written By:

Yesterday, Dior unveiled its breathtaking new high jewellery collection, Diorexquis – a 165-piece masterstroke from the visionary Victoire de Castellane, artistic director of Dior Joaillerie. A glittering homage to the exquisite, the offering invites wearers into a whimsical world where fantasy meets craftsmanship, inspired by Monsieur Christian Dior’s enduring love for nature, flower bouquets and the pageantry of grand soirées.

Structured as a poetic triptych, Diorexquis transports viewers through enchanting landscapes, delicate bouquets and fabulous balls – each scene a miniature marvel, layered with precious stones and storytelling. The designs unfold like visual fairytales: gardens bloom in gemstone hues, icy winters shimmer in diamonds and festive nights glow in golden splendor.

At the heart of the collection lies a bold play of textures and innovative techniques. Opal doublets – where opals are fused with onyx, turquoise or mother-of-pearl – create mesmerising, shifting tones reminiscent of skies or water. The intricate plique-à-jour technique, an ancient artform reimagined through Dior’s signature lacquer, delivers translucent, stained glass-like compositions, especially in the floral motifs.

Many of the pieces are scene-like “windows,” flat, pictorial and framed in diamonds and gemstones opening successively onto tableaus of a childlike landscape, a vibrant garden or a miniature haute couture salon, offering a peek into Castellane’s dreamlike universe. Expect a wealth of brooches, necklaces, double-rings, ear cuffs, ear climbers, a tiara, a hair clip and several parures alongside show-only couture creations like belts, anklets and cufflinks, crafted to complement bespoke looks by Maria Grazia Chiuri.

Diorexquis is not only an extraordinary jewellery collection – it’s a reverie of Dior’s house codes, refracted through Victoire de Castellane’s childlike imagination and the atelier’s exceptional technical artistry. Each piece is a wearable tableau, and one you won’t want to take off.
