BOSS: SS23

Boss knows how to put on a show. Out onto Milan’s Velodrome Vigorelli, the Boss crew were lit up by light beams as they walked under steel spheres. It was a collection inspired by motorcycling and power dressing: leather and suits, two of our favourite things. Boss means business, and they drew in Gen Z with an epic lineup including Tik Tok’s biggest stars Khaby Lame and Bella Poarch, alongside Future, Jordan Barrett, Adut Akech, Ashley Graham and the star of our show, Naomi Campbell.

Leather motorbike pants were made with ease intended in finer materials, suit jackets were double breasted and made from canvas and silhouettes were slightly oversized for added volume. “Our archive is the beating heart of BOSS and the brand’s legacy,” said Marco Falcioni, Senior Vice President Creative Direction of Hugo Boss. “We were inspired by some iconic Boss campaign images from the ‘90s to explore our power suits from decades past, and to ask ourselves: how can we capture the empowering mood of these pieces for a new generation? We were drawn towards the idea of soft power this season. Suiting that is less of an inflexible shield around the wearer, and more an expression of individuality, freedom, and self-expression.” It felt self-assured, loosely tailored and fresh in shades of blue-tinged white, hot metallic silver, and soft grey. “This collection is all about dressing like a BOSS, whatever that means for you,” Marco said. It was softly powerful, just how we like to boss up.
