PRADA: SS26
The Body of Composition. This collection at its heart was a discourse around freedom of speech, doing things differently, breaking out, something unconventional. It resonated with an audience that is hungry for something new - and above all something that offers optimism and lightness. The colours brought shots of brightness jumbled together just brilliantly.
Beautiful satin gloves elegantly 1950s, complemented workwear all-in-one. A crystal embellished wool dress worn over a puffy crinkly duchesse satin skirt hitched up a just a little bit wrong - worn with soft soled sneakers. Night and day, day and night, Prada is the one.
Mrs Prada explained: “Inevitably, when we create we think about the world around us. The future is unknown. This collection is about reacting to the uncertain – clothes that can shift, change, adapt. In the combination of the different elements, in this idea of composition, there is a choice and freedom, authority and agency for the woman wearing them. It is fashion that is connected inherently to the world, with a meaning and usefulness. How to face the world, and how to survive.” It was two fingers to conformity and anonymity. And we loved it.
