MIU MIU: SS26
The set made us feel like maybe we were in Mrs Prada’s kitchen: fun. Blue and green tables with a pink floor and yellow Perspex walls, super Italiano. Super 1950s. Perching or sitting, we were in the thick of a family conversation. Perhaps the ruffle edged aprons, the simple leather aprons, the lace aprons nodded to a time of domestic bliss but as with all that Miuccia Prada does, they were keenly weaponised and perhaps intended to emancipate. No one saw them coming but we like to be surprised. This was a working woman’s wardrobe - whatever that work may be.
Over the last few years Miu Miu has become the number one go-to brand for young women: coveting the mini pleat skirts, check shirts and jackets resonant with post school vibes and onto university. This collection changed that conversation, adding in layers of newness. We loved the vests with apron string multiple side ties worn with pants, the deep apron pockets that said ‘get to work’, and the super mini pinafores sprinkled with shiny crystals. The kitchen is the place where it all the fun happens: good food, conversations, laughter, and childhood memories. We were right there.
