DOLCE & GABBANA: SS26
As the editor of Runway magazine, Miranda Priestly - followed by Nigel Kipling - swept into the Dolce & Gabbana show, the audience cheered. This rarely happens at a fashion show - there are few displays of emotion. The filming for Devil Wears Prada 2 was taking place and added an extra sense of excitement and ‘we might be on camera’ seriousness to the show. After all, this is an important fashion film.
The collection had all the hallmarks of classic Dolce & Gabbana but this time completely fresh, paired back and youthful. There were the signature delicate black lace bras layered with extra lace, but what lightened the mood were the pyjama suits, crumpled, rumpled. Perhaps this was the morning after, but fresh. The ‘pyjamas’ were worn open, oversized and embroidered with tiny crystals, worn with enormous fluffy slides and towering heels. The sense here was of effortlessness and modernity, and it felt just right. Miranda looked razor sharp in her Dolce, as she went backstage to congratulate the designers.
