DIOR: SS24

|
Written By:

The Dior women came fast and furious in a whirl of darkness for SS24: simple black suit jackets; asymmetric dresses (inspired by Monsieur Dior’s ‘Abandon’ dress of 1948), cobweb-esque laced dresses, black-and-white hypnotic printed coats, and charmed floating sheer black skirts.

Must be the season of the witch. Maria Grazia Chiuri has been hard at work, researching the history of rebellious women who have fought for independence and challenged the system - specifically witches. The mood board featured stills from a film adaptation of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, alongside Ingrid Bergman as Joan of Arc. Set against a neon pink and yellow-striped runway designed by Italian artist Elena Bellantoni, complete with empowering quotes,. This was their uniform, with an obvious emphasis that it was not for the male gaze (but perhaps perfect for potion making).
