It's that time of year. We love a new face, and as Australian Fashion Week begins, we've rounded up the top ten new faces at IMG Models that we're looking forward to seeing more of. Ahead of fashion week, we spoke to our top ten about their goals in the industry and what they hope to use their platform for:

KALEEMA

Kaleema, what are you most excited for this week?

This week I’m most excited to be behind the scenes. I’m just so happy that I can finally experience what goes on behind the runway!

Who is your model inspo?

My model inspo is probably Yasmin Wijnaldum and Gisele Bündchen. They are both such great models.

What's on your fashion week playlist?

The artists that will be playing over and over again are Frank Ocean, Brent Faiyaz and Montell Fish!

Where do you see yourself in five years? Is there a show you'd love to walk in?

5 years from now I see myself hopefully overseas modelling. That's my dream! A dream show I would LOVE to do is YSL.

What is inspiring you right now, aside from modelling?

My inspiration is God, as well as my family!

You're in a position where you'll be able to influence people. What do you want to use your growing platform for?

I would like to use my platform to raise awareness towards POC representation especially for young Indigenous girls like myself.

I can do this!

EDEN WALSH

Eden, what are you most excited for this week?

The thing I’m most excited about at Australian Fashion Week is the people. I’m so eager to meet creatives and people in the modelling industry who share the same interests and goals as me. I am also incredibly excited to see my friends get the opportunity to show off their look on the biggest Australian stage.

Who is your model inspo?

Models often get a reputation of being cold and you often forget that these dreamy people are as human as everyone else. A model whose work helped me realise this was Kit Price. The content he makes shows the modelling industry from a model’s perspective on a more personal level. Seeing content of the modelling industry that isn’t a press release or shots from a photo-shoot makes this industry feel far less alien and far-fetched in comparison to how you live and it helps inspire younger people.

What's on your fashion week playlist?

My playlists are all over the place but recently while heading to castings and getting ready I’ve been listening to a lot of Frank Ocean, especially Ivy, Pink Matter and Super Rich Kids. When I’m needing to think and get myself mentally prepped I will listen to some of Skepta's house music such as Smoke In Your Eyes or Touching My Body.

What is inspiring you right now, aside from modelling?

I am inspired by my parents, who have both gone through so much but showed me that time change all as long as you keep going.

You're in a position where you'll be able to influence people. What do you want to use your growing platform for?

I think it is super important that people who are in a position to influence speak out on issues that have affected them. Something that I think is very important is Men’s Mental Health – there’s an expectation that men just “get over it” when there is something bothering them and that’s certainly not the case. Men should know that your loved ones want to listen if it will help you – it’s not weak to talk!

Show them that you belong here and keep your chin down :).

Where do you see yourself in five years? Is there a show you'd love to walk in?

In 5 years I hope that I am still travelling the world and I hope to feel at home in multiple countries I work and live in. My dream show to walk would be for Diesel in Milan. I love the aesthetic of the brand and their shows are always very entertaining!

JEMMA

Jemma, what are you most excited for this week?

I’m so excited to walk in a show for the first time! Definitely still nerve-wracking, but it’s so surreal to even be here for Fashion Week. I’ve had so much fun already meeting other new models and some familiar faces.

Who is your model inspo?

I have so many favourites, but I absolutely love Tess McMillan, Alex Consani and Anok Yai. I really admire how down to earth and humble they are in such a huge and competitive industry. They’re confident in their individuality and have obviously worked so hard to be in their current positions.

What's on your fashion week playlist?

I’ve had Chappell Roan on repeat for weeks. Her song “Good Luck Babe” is so catchy, it’s been stuck in my head at castings. Also in love with Beabadoobee’s new song, it’s completely my vibe.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Is there a show you'd love to walk in?

Hopefully travelling overseas for modelling work! I’d love to be a role model for young girls with my body type worldwide. I’m still very new to the runway scene though, so I’d just like to get as much experience as I can! It would be an absolute honour to walk any dream show.

What is inspiring you right now, aside from modelling?

I’m a dancer, so I’ve recently been captivated by the women from Jam Republic. They’re a very talented international dance crew, with some members also born and raised in Australia!

You're in a position where you'll be able to influence people. What do you want to use your growing platform for?

I would love to be the representation for girls and women alike with my body type. Growing up I rarely saw models larger than the sample size, so even when I first began modelling I never thought I’d be walking a show, let alone for Australian Fashion Week! It goes to show that If I can do it, you can too.

Don’t stress, just enjoy!

Hudson, what are you most excited for this week?

Just experiencing Australian Fashion Week for the first time as a model is so exciting.

Who is your model inspo?

Right now I feel like Alton Mason is my idol, especially with how he carries himself.

What's on your fashion week playlist?

A whole lot of Tyler the Creator. His latest album is just an instant confidence booster for me.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Is there a show you'd love to walk in?

Milan Fashion Week with 'avavav' is the dream right now I think.

What is inspiring you right now, aside from modelling?

Definitely music; making it, listening to it, sharing it.

You're in a position where you'll be able to influence people. What do you want to use your growing platform for?

In today's age of instant information and social media, I'd have to say body positivity.

Leif, what are you most excited for this week?

I’m excited to see all the amazing work put into the shows come together for an amazing week!

Who is your model inspo?

Alex Consani 100%. She's so amazing and cool. I love her style.

What's on your fashion week playlist?

Come Down by Anderson .Paak or anything I can groove to!

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I'd love to see myself becoming successful and stable in whatever I seek.

What is inspiring you right now, aside from modelling?

Seeing people I love succeed in their dreams and aspirations.

You're in a position where you'll be able to influence people. What do you want to use your growing platform for?

I want to be able to advocate for the people and things that cannot speak for themselves and bring awareness to people who have the power to change things about our world such as climate change and rights for women and children in places of hardship.

Fashion week mantra?

Take anything you can get; you never know what could happen if you don’t take the opportunity.

Hannah, what are you most excited for this week?

Getting to spend the week meeting so many amazing people & creatives!

Who is your model inspo?

Camille Rowe or Amelia Gray.

What's on your fashion week playlist?

Friendly Pressure - Into the Sunshine mix.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Hopefully I’ll be modeling in Europe & living my best life overseas.

Are there any dream shows you'd love to walk?

So many! I'd love to walk for Albus Lumen & Michael Lo Sordo.

What is inspiring you right now, aside from modelling?

Living life to the fullest and happiest, and making my mumma proud.

You're in a position where you'll be able to influence people. What do you want to use your growing platform for?

Mental health & mindfulness. Especially opening up the conversation about grief. Everyone experiences it at some point in life and yet it can feel so lonely.

The universe is on my side.

Ayden, what are you most excited for this week?

I’m most excited about walking my first runway, meeting new people and just having a great time!

Who's your model inspo?

I have come to like Wisdom's work!!

What's on your fashion week playlist?

Eagle by D-Block Europe and I See You Shining by Nines

Where do you see yourself in five years? Which shows would you love to walk in?

I see myself as a prominent person within the modelling industry with a very successful career. My dream shows are definitely Prada and Louis Vuitton. I would love to walk for those designers.

What's inspiring you right now, aside from modelling?

My mum inspires me the most. She works almost every single day and never complains. I want to be successful so that she doesn’t have to work anymore!

You're in a position where you'll be able to influence people. What do you want to use your growing platform for?

I definitely want to raise concern or more awareness on health. As people, we tend to disregard what we actually put in our body. I feel like I could inspire people to eat healthy even if it’s one healthy meal a day. Everyone can benefit from just adding a few healthy things in their daily diet.

This is my time!

Summer, what are you most excited for this week?

I am most excited for a glimpse of the potential of high fashion modelling.

Who's your model inspo?

Yasmin Wijnaldum is by far my idol when it comes to modelling.

What's on your fashion week playlist?

My fashion week playlist is currently Amy Winehouse radio and I genuinely recommend it for everyone.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Which shows would you love to walk in?

In 5 years I see myself travelling overseas with a flourishing modelling career. I dream and aspire to walk for Jacquemus.

What's inspiring you right now, aside from modelling?

At the moment I have started to get into all different kinds of hobbies such as sketching, bouldering and yoga, which I love because they inspire me to think outside of the usual.

You're in a position where you'll be able to influence people. What do you want to use your growing platform for?

I want to influence people to be comfortable in their own skin and embrace their imperfections because that's what makes you different and special. Don't hide it, flaunt it.

I'm not afraid to be seen trying.

What are you most excited for this week?

Watching my friends do really well in their shows.

Who's your model inspo?

The older, more experienced girls at my agency.

What's on your fashion week playlist?

We Can’t Be Friends by Ariana Grande.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Which shows would you love to walk in?

I have absolutely no idea what I’ll be doing in five years time but I want to walk as many shows as I can.

What's inspiring you right now, aside from modelling?

All my friends who are also chasing their dreams and working really hard at university or their jobs.

You're in a position where you'll be able to influence people. What do you want to use your growing platform for?

That violence against women is wrong.

What are you most excited for this week?

I’m most excited to have to the opportunity to walk and experience my first fashion week - it’s like jumping out of a plane scary but exciting at the same time.

Who's your model inspo?

I’m being mentored by a guy that worked in the industry -  he is teaching me all the little tips and tricks from his career which I’m taking in my stride.

What's on your fashion week playlist?

Listening to Burna Boy as it keeps me calm.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Which shows would you love to walk in?

I see my self growing in the industry and following the opportunities that arise -  I’m very excited about travelling the world and working with great creatives.

What's inspiring you right now, aside from modelling?

I’m 18 and have just moved to a new city - I'm very inspired by the themes of independence and individuality.

You're in a position where you'll be able to influence people. What do you want to use your growing platform for?

I'm still young and open to everything - the world is new to me and full of opportunities and I’m very grateful for that.

Fashion week mantra?

Life is like a bicycle wheel - the more spokes I can add to it the easier my life rolls around.
