MARINE SERRE IS PITTI UOMO’S NEXT GUEST DESIGNER
For its 106th edition, Pitti Uomo has announced Marine Serre as its next guest designer.
The international menswear trade show is scheduled to run between June 11 and 14, 2024, with Serre set to present her collection on the 12th marking the first time in her brand’s history that the Paris-based brand has presented a range solely made up of menswear.
Following in the formidable footsteps of iconic designers like Raf Simons, Giorgio Armani and Jean Paul Gaultier, as well as newcomers like Martine Rose, Grace Wales Bonner and last year’s guests, S.S. Daley and Luca Magliano, the guest slot at the Florentine menswear fair is a pivotal thing to secure. But Serre is easily one of the most intriguing designers to show during Paris Fashion Week with her sustainably oriented creations and totally playful displays, so the decision to grant her the Pitti Uomo mainstage feels overdue.
Speaking on the announcement, the French designer commented: “I am really excited to present my next show in Florence on the 12th of June. It’s an honor for me and my team to be the Guest Designer of Pitti Uomo this season. We’re looking forward to bringing the essence of Marine Serre to Florence, mixing craftsmanship our way, and shaking the lines of what’s expected to be, bringing imagination at the service of transformation.”
