Louis Vuitton Monogram 130th Anniversary Collections
The new year calls for new celebrations, and at Louis Vuitton, 2026 is all about monogram. Marking 130 years of the instantly recognisable print with a year-long jubilee anchored by collections and dedicated window displays, the house sets the tone for twelve months of heritage-forward spectacle. First up, a campaign tribute to Louis Vuitton’s most memorable monogram bags – the Keepall, Alma, Speedy, Noé and Neverfull – and a release of brand-spanking new, special-edition arm candy collections. Timeless, versatile bags designed to last a lifetime, they’re revisited here as cultural artefacts as much as everyday companions.
The LV monogram canvas first debuted in 1896 when Georges Vuitton, as a tribute to his father (and father of the house) Louis, dreamt it up. That graphic system – following the striped canvas of 1872 and the Damier of 1888 – interlaced LV’s streamlined initials with a floral motif, creating a signature as poetic as it was practical.
In the decades since, it has become one of the most enduring emblems in fashion and beyond. Enter the new Monogram Anniversary Collection, which counts three special bags each reinterpreting the monogram through advanced, modern design techniques and materials whilst honouring the codes of the trunk savoir-faire.
Louis Vuitton also unveils the Monogram Origine Collection, a release which revisits the premier 1896 pattern and its traditional jacquard weave, now crafted from a pastel-painted linen and cotton blend that riffs off of the cover of an archival client register of the house.
Then there’s the VVN Collection, which functions as an ode to Louis Vuitton’s leather goods legacy. Here, supple cowhide takes centre stage, shaping a line-up that celebrates restraint, authenticity and the quiet romance of hand-finished leather, with every piece evolving its own richly lived-in patina over time.
Finally, the Time Trunk Collection. A collision of past and present, this range taps into trompe-l’oeil printing to reproduce the tangible textures and metallic details of Louis Vuitton’s historic trunks.
These collections are your invitation to rediscover the Louis Vuitton monogram, an emblem that has cemented itself as a cultural touchstone amongst fashion circles and regular circles alike, with an ever-evolving legacy that seems only to keep on growing, as it celebrates 130 years.
