Astronomer and Cosmologist Carl Sagan once said: “Our ancestors worshipped the sun and they were not that foolish. It makes sense to revere the sun and the stars, for we are their children.” This season, Lucy Folk is Sun Worshipping with a new collection, which she describes as “an offering of devotion to the sun and all that it has inspired, from the Mayan sundial, the Piedra del sol, to the right colours of Luis Barragan’s architecture”. A real feel-good collection. The extreme powerful energy source is filtered through sun dresses in turmeric orange, fringed earthy red mini skirts and cropped shirts, the lightest baby pink shorts and pants that flow, painted in sunset stripes. It is, as Folk says, “an elemental palette to draw ceremony to the sun, and ask for its good fortune to shine on all those adorned in its golden likeness.” Photographed by Amanda Charchian in Flamingo Estate in Los Angeles earlier this year, the collection is lit up by the sunlight, grounded in nature. Ready to chase glory around the world in our Lucy Folk.
