Our main man is back, back again at New York Fashion Week to show our the next chapter in our wardrobe. Dion Lee knows what we want. For AW19, the motto was ‘Baroque vs. Grunge, Classical vs. Classic.’ We can work with that. Vivaldi’s Spring Concerto was the soundtrack to a collection, so classic with that corsetry, the backbone of the collection with it’s beautiful thin lace that crept across the neckline. Dion doesn’t miss details. Trousers hung low, loose and belted and suit jackets were as usual, tailored to deliver the right amount of shoulder sass and slouchy cool. New classics were leather jackets, laser cut pleated skirts chomped into at the hem and cleverly cut out around necklines and shoulders. The perfect sweet pastel Dion dreamland was seen through soft greys, silky limes and charcoal navy and blacks. Everything feels good here.
