Max Mara know a great coat, and now Ian Griffiths has created a new family member, the Teddy Bear Vest. A new sidekick of sorts. Griffiths spent time in the Max Mara archive, rediscovering the ’80s Teddy Bear coats, originally developed in German mills for making children’s toys. Serious Teddy Bear business. Those mills and fabrics no longer exist, so Griffiths and the Max Mara team worked with an Italian supplier to recreate the technology to produce faux fur camel hair on a base of silk. The coat that debuted in 2013 has now been sliced into a new style for a new decade, the vest. Made from fur-effect alpaca, wool, silk and with a double breasted fastening with horn buttons over a horizontal stripe motif, this is the Teddy Bear Vest. We love her. The vest is available exclusively online now.
