Into the New York City night we went, honoured to see the premiere of Miu Miu Women’s Tales 19th film at Village East cinema in New York. Well, we are Miu Miu girls. Nightwalk directed by Małgorzata Szumowska is a poignant and touching film about two people from starkly different homes struggling with being understood by their parents and struggling with being accepted for who they are. And a big part of being who we are is presenting as we want. Wearing what we want. The characters transform shedding their false selves and coming into their true nature experimenting with layers of Miu Miu, boots discarded for sneakers, a skirt for a track pant… one young girl and one queer gender person, who could not be more different or more alike. Szumowska really hits home that being the real you is the only way. And we are oh so grateful that Miu Miu is with us on this journey.
