We try not to get too hyped up when designers make a comeback. But when Nicomede Talavera announced the end of his hiatus earlier this year, we couldn’t help but be as ecstatic as when Stacey Slater rocked back up to Albert Square in 2004. Back for good and ready to take the reigns once again, London’s menswear standout has teamed up with legendary British outerwear brand Puffa on a capsule collection exclusive to Selfridges. Aiming to “re-imagine” a series of menswear staples, the pair have created a 12-piece capsule collection that riffs of classic menswear silhouettes and holding them aloft to a contemporary light. Circulating around three main styles, each garment is adorned with velvet trims, extensive quilting, and statement hardware; while using materials mostly created with recycled plastic. Celebrating the launch of the collab, Nicomede has appointed the super-stylings of our Senior Fashion Editor-at-Large Harry Lambert and Nhu Xuan Hua for a shoot that takes motocross to beastly new heights, with the mechanical horse sculpture finding a new home at the department store. We know it’s only October but we’re already thinking Christmas.
