And throws shade. Well, maybe. Balmain is changing it’s logo and in the official statement, Olivier Rousteing said: “Having been the creative director of this house for eight years, I’m not about to tear down traditions or break rules simply for the sake of breaking them.” Not unlike Hedi Slimane did at Celine this year, or Riccardo Tisci at Burberry. Awkward! “But times do change,” Rousteing continued. “Balmain is now a fast-growing brand relying on new media to communicate to a global audience. To best meet the challenges and opportunities of today, we unveil a newly updated logo for Balmain Paris.” The logo is a little bit more bubbly Balmain, designed by Adulte Adulte and is a lowkey tribute to Pierre Balmain, with an additional stroke within the B to make a P. And for Paris. The logo will be used on t-shirts and buckles in the pre-fall 2019 collection and on a new bag style called the B bag. Makes sense.
