THE 2022 WOOLMARK PRIZE FINALISTS
The 2022 International Woolmark Prize finalists have been announced, and they’re ready to ‘Play’. Selected as some of the world’s most exciting emerging design talent, the lineup features seven designers including 10 favourite Jordan Dalah:
Ahluwalia, United Kingdom
EGONLAB, France
Jordan Dalah, Australia
MMUSOMAXWELL, South Africa
Peter Do, USA
Rui, China
Saul Nash, United Kingdom
This year’s theme ‘Play’ is a celebration of innovation, inviting finalists to play with design, textiles, business practices and drive some sort of change for a better future. “I am incredibly honoured to be selected as a finalist for this year’s Woolmark prize,” says Jordan Dalah. “I look forward to showcasing the vital role wool plays in my work.” Each finalist will receive $60,000 to develop their Merino wool AW22 collection, and will be mentored by industry leaders. The winners will be chosen in April 2022, with $200,000 going to the IWP winner, and $100,000 to the Karl Lagerfeld Award for innovation winner. The Woolmark Supply Chain Award will also be awarded, celebrating outstanding contribution from a trade partner driving wool supply chain innovation. Play on.
