Has it been a year already? A whole 365 days since Loewe first teamed up with the design wizards at Studio Ghibli for a limited-edition capsule collection based on the film My Neighbor Totoro, Jonathan Anderson has called on the Japanese animation house again, this time for a collection dedicated to the Oscar-winning iconic Spirited Away. Chihiro, Yubaba, and the spirit with no face jump across ready-to-wear pieces, blankets, scarves and beloved Loewe bags, including the Amazona and the Puzzle. As a house indebted to the highest level of craft, Loewe has adopted the Japanese ‘boro’ technique, which involves patchworking indigo-dyed scraps of fabric together to create intarsia of Kasuri textiles. There’s also an Anagram jacquard canvas used on a selection of pieces. For the serious Studio Ghibli lovers.
