HUNTER SCHAFER IS THE FACE OF PRADA
Hunter Schafer is the new face of Prada. That’s it. That’s the Tweet.
After appearing in the post-show panel discussion during Prada’s latest show in February – alongside Marc Jacobs, Rem Koolhaas, Raf and Mrs. P – Schafer stars in the new campaign for the house’s iconic Galliera bag. The actress and model – most known for her role as Jules in HBO’s Euphoria – sports a choppy blonde bob and a smoky eye as she twirls in a make-shift bedroom set, captured by acclaimed director Xavier Dolan.
The short film sees Schafer gab on the phone, try on some lovely earrings, throw on a Prada skirt – from the house’s SS21 collection – and dramatically dance around the room with her Galliera bag plonked on her head. All in a day’s work when you’re a global fashion icon.
“Embracing the codes and tropes inherent to the world of fashion, the film has a purity, a naivety, joy,” reads the press release. “Schafer is our heroine – a romantic, a young girl imagining her place within her different fantasies.” Having already walked for Miu Miu, Maison Margiela, Dior and Mugler – seriously, we’re still not over that moment – who’s to say Miss Schafer won’t make an appearance on the next Prada catwalk? Now, that would be a serve.
