Nike have officially released the Nike Air VaporMax 2020 Flyknit shoe, a milestone move in sustainability and innovation for the brand. The shoe is made of at least 50% recycled materials with each component of the shoe being created specifically with a high percentage of recycled materials, meaning that each shoe results in a slightly varied colour patterns from using recycled materials. The shoe is a step forward in Nike’s ‘Move to Zero’ movement which works toward a zero carbon and zero waste future. “We wanted to look at not only Nike’s waste stream but other industrial waste streams and how we could leverage that content. We let that drive a lot of the decision-making,” says Nike product design lead Jesi Small. “We wanted to make a sustainably-sourced silhouette from the ground up, and one that is quick and easy to put on and wear daily.” With the new VaporMax Flyknit, Nike continue to protect the planet and future of sport against climate change. The Nike Air VaporMax 2020 Flyknit is available to buy now. You know the drill – just do it.
