Alexa Chung’s Autumn/Winter 2019 show was about women going underground to make it happen. Sort of like the world had ended, and only women were left (we can only hope). And so Chung imagined these women fending for themselves, taking over and gathering strength. One must always look good when being self-sufficient. For the first time, Chung’s collection included sunglasses, a collaboration with Sunglass Hut to create the perfect ’70s old-school back to the future feel. “I’ve always gravitated towards vintage frameswhen it comes to putting together an outfit, and this is the same approach I took when it came to researching for design,” she said. “I revisited iconic moments in film and music to make a variety of styles that feel both timeless and timely. Scott Walker, Fellini, Elvis and Anna Karina to name but a few shady icons of mine, all helped shape the direction of this eyewear capsule.” We like a shady icon. The two eyewear styles are available now.
