And another one, and quite possibly our favourite one. Overnight Virgil Abloh has announced yet another collaboration, this time with Serena Williams. This year’s U.S. Open will see Williams hitting serves in Virgil Abloh for Nike, and you already know it’s going to be good. The chosen looks include a black asymmetric dress complete with the Nike tick and classic Virgil signature “Logo” complete with quotation marks with a tutu. We have a new princess to look up to, ladies. Virgil’s collaboration Nike will continue here with a customised pair of NikeCourt Flare sneakers called ‘Queen.’ True! The look is completed with a leather jacket. Tough. The limited edition dress, jacket and two sneaker styles will be available in Nike only in America as of the end of August. So we are obvs booking flights now. Abloh told Vogue his process consisted of looking through the Wiliams’ archives, specifically citing her 2002 U.S. Open catsuit and 2018 French Open outfits. On his Instagram Story today he shared a screenshot googling Serena Williams as a teenager, captioning it “muse.” Already winning.
