A purple haze of fake fur covered every inch of the show space and presaged the kitsch to-the-max almost ghetto glamour that processioned so fabulously and fearlessly at the end of Paris fashion week and the season. Leave it to Miuccia Prada to add a whole slew of fake fur in dreamboat pastel shades worn over the palest silk bias cut slip dresses – and some foxy giant boy caps in yes, fake fur. Crystals. Stacked heel correspondence lace ups. Flippy, swingy, shiny. Textures. Stoles. Oversize bomber jackets worn over slips and evening heels, as if a midnight dash to the 7/11 had been done. And then the sweater girls so handsome in a true pin up style and that slight 1940s sense transitioned into 1970s territory with print trouser suits, knitted.
De La Soul was pumped out for the tunes which added to the hip hopping jam of it all. It had guts and balls this collection and sparkles and the sense that life is a party, decadent, and throwing joy all over us.
