Over the Double Rainbouu we went. Second time. Last year we were rock and rollin’ inside a garage in a grungy back lane. This year Mikey Nolan and Toby Jones were taking us to the beach. Cue seagulls, this is a Day Break, Moon Club rave. The coolest kids. Knee length red socks, chunky all white, all black sneakers, mobile ghetto blasters. The sun was shining, hot, beating down. Super fly new tribe. Good specs too… Le Specs. Extremely chill. Too chill? A little eerie. Hot, bright, bold, sinister. “It was an escape. Hippies holidaying, Goa and Ibiza in the ’70s. A dystopia and a utopia,” Mikey told us backstage. Oh yes, it was a bit of both. 50 50. Can’t have a utopia without a little darkness. Shirt dresses, logo’d t shirts, shorts, slippers, hats and new school beautiful graded knits. Oh the knits. The Rainbouu Army is evolving. More more more.
