It was Karl Lagerfeld making waves at Chanel today, pretty, mini skirted tweeds in pastel colours. Lots of bright CC bags, wicker too, piled on, because it’s all about carrying two bags next season, sandals in hand, barefoot on the Grand Palais sur mer beach, with lapping waves. Of course. Layers of necklaces. Loaded. It was a quintessentially light hearted Chanel collection with ease and ozone in equal measure, cycle shorts and fit like a surf suit jackets, an army of little back dresses and all topped off with brimmed straw hats. Michel Gaubert spun his tunes from the cabana as the collection strolled along. Making a splash. Laughing, smiling tra la la. Loved it.
