Calvin Klein has always been about ground breaking campaigns. We’ve never taken it for granted. Marquee names. Too many to list. The Fall 17 campaign delivers a cool hand currency that focuses not on one blockbuster face but a collective of 22 models. And it just feels good, like Coca-Cola 1971 good, “It’s the real thing,” hell yes. Intense pale colours, sky blue, blood rich drenched colour, all American flag and all photographed in the bleached Mojave Desert, California by Willy Vanderperre, with a Hud style billboard featuring last seasons campaign. Well of course. It was that good. Love the blown out yearning, all we need is the tumble weed in this modern American utopia where we have landed with Raf Simons’ new gang in this emerging dystopia. We want in.
