It’s time for our new unofficial segment – First’s In Fashion. Today Dior released Kim Jones’ first campaign for menswear. Contemporary artist Brian Donnelly’s knitted Kaws dolls are once again the backbone of the #look (tbt to when the 33 foot tall figure made up of flowers stood strong and tall in the centre of the debut SS19 show). “I wanted the advertising to reflect the spirit of the men’s summer show and the beauty of Dior,” Jones said. “I’ve always wanted to work with Kaws, I think he’s super chic and also his work speaks to a lot of people.” Photographed by Steven Meisel the boys hang out in their Dior Men suit and ties and sweaters. The good life. It’s the kind of candy coloured world that looks so pretty and soft but sure and sharp in that expert tailoring. Little bees land on shirts and high top sneakers are monogrammed. Everything feels right. Kim Jones’s Dior is our happy place. Now, to Tokyo for the Pre-Fall show.
