This time last year, Net-a-Porter launched their very own Gucci capsule collection. Us menfolk, as in, the ones that can’t quite pull off a women’s item of clothing just yet, were wildly jealous. But now, our time has come – this week, we’ve received word that Mr Porter will be launching a 43 piece Gucci capsule collection, designed by Alessandro Michele. And to say it’s been worth the wait is an understatement. It’s brill. There’s something there for us all – a stripy three-piece suit sits alongside motif-adorned tracksuits, and there a new version those backless loafers, here with reworked goat hair lining. Colour palette is typically zingy – zesty oranges and yellows, bright blues and rich burgundies. Managing Director of Mr Porter, Toby Bateman, said of the collab: “we are the thrilled to partner with Gucci on this exclusive project, at a time when the House is so vibrant and influential in its designs. Alessandro and his team’s talents truly shine through with this unique capsule collection of iconic pieces, all of which we’re sure will be an instant success with our global customer.” Expect Alessandro’s typically eclectic offering. – clothes you didn’t know you wanted until Gucci told you you wanted them. And now you do. Desperately.
