For almost a decade, Chanel has partied in the French Alps at the Courchevel ski station, the ultimate winter wonderland for those who only want to wear Chanel (us). Each year, the space is refreshed, reworked in the flow of the collection it is presenting. This year, the Chanel ski station will present AW18/19 as well as the Cruise 18/19 collections with SS19 coming in hot a few weeks after. Basically all the relevant Chanel you could ever wish for. For this season, the letters that make up Chanel have been worked into sculptures, sort of mimicking those dazzling CHA and NEL earrings we saw on the SS19 catwalk.. but in 1.2 metre high lacquered black metal. They also light up. Inside, the low ceiling bungalow-esque ski station has been clothed with Chanel amongst white and wood walls and a five lined parquet that leads the way. Gabrielle Chanel’s 31 Rue Cambon is here in spirit, the black wrought iron staircase is reminiscent of the iconic stairs in Paris. Oui oui, give us all the double C’s.
Chanel’s Courchevel boutique will be open from December 12th 2018 to the end of April 2019.
