Our friends at Burberry are doing something good. This is by no means uncommon for the brand, but today it’s something particularly good, today they have announced a series of initiatives cementing their commitment to LGBTQ+ communities around the world. And being Burberry, it all starts with the check, transforming their world renowned pattern into the LGBTQ+ rainbow check, which is not only set to feature prominently across Christopher Bailey’s last ever collection for the brand, but individual pieces featuring the colours will also be available for purchase immediately after the show on Saturday 17th February.
“My final collection here at Burberry is dedicated to- and in support of- some of the best and brightest organisations supporting LGBTQ+ youth around the world” said Christopher of the new initiative. “There has never been a more important time to say that in our diversity lies out strength, and our creativity”. Those organisations include the Albert Kennedy Trust, the Trevor Project and ILGA charities, all of which are dedicated to broadening the awareness, mentoring and resources available to such communities around the world. Now, we’re always proud of Burberry, it’s difficult not to be when you’re British, but today we’ll be raising a particularly generous glass in honour of this brilliant new initiative.
