Ramesh Nithiyendran is a deity.
“I’ve done a few of these” he tells me when we sit down in the office of the Sullivan+Strumpf gallery to film him the day before his show. Yeah, duh Ramesh. I’ve watched them. You’ve got a lot to say, we geddit.
Ramesh is a glorious human. Meeting him was like catching up with an old friend. An old friend with a laugh that reverberates and the type of witty humor that everyone envies. Going from studying painting and two-dimensional surfaces to erecting giant phalluses in Carriageworks, he’s got the type of motivation that feels contagious. Everything Ramesh says (and wears) is amazing and if you haven’t seen the show, you should. You won’t regret it.
